Kristine Nicole Afable is a hotelier & a ceramic artist. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, she spent the first 18 years of her life immersed in Filipino culture before moving to the United States and eventually settling in Toronto, Canada. She spent over eight years in the luxury hospitality industry, where she learned the value of attention to detail, aesthetics, and creating experiences that truly connect with people—lessons she now brings to her work with clay.
Over the past three years, Kristine has explored ceramics as a way to tell stories, connect with her heritage, and bring beauty into everyday life. Her travels across the United States, Canada, Japan, France, and Italy deepened her understanding of ceramics and inspired her to create her own contemporary style and combine with traditional Filipino shapes and patterns.
She has led multiple workshops showcasing traditional Filipino hand-building pottery techniques and has shared her work at various festivals. Today, Kristine focuses on larger sculptural pieces and functional art, crafting handmade creations that celebrate heritage, storytelling, and the simple joy of working with clay. Through her art, she hopes to inspire creativity and invite others to experience the grounding beauty and magic of pottery.
